Grants Pass School District 7 students made significant gains in both English Language Arts (ELA) and math on the 2025-26 Oregon Statewide Assessment System (OSAS) tests, with growth across the district and particularly strong gains in grades 3, 5, and 7.
These results reflect years of work by our teachers and staff. Our district has made a long-term investment in literacy, including science of reading training, a new K-5 reading and writing curriculum, interim and benchmark assessments, and regular collaboration around student data.

Grants Pass High School has been recognized among the nation's best public high schools in the 2026-2027 Best High Schools rankings from U.S. News & World Report.
GPHS is ranked #19 in Oregon, #1 in Josephine County, and #1 in Southern Oregon, making it the highest-ranked high school south of Eugene.

Grants Pass School District 7 is pleased to welcome Ashley Monteil as the new principal of Lincoln Elementary School for the 2026-27 school year.
Ms. Monteil brings nearly two decades of experience in education, having served as a classroom teacher and school administrator.

Since 2023, our district has been completing facility improvement projects across our schools through a debt restructuring plan approved by the School Board. The plan freed up approximately $13 million for projects at no additional cost to taxpayers.

Our senior-citizen season-ticket program is expanding!
Currently, community members age 62 and older can attend Grants Pass High School's regular-season athletic events for free. Beginning in the 2026–27 school year, the program will also include art, music, and theatre performances.

On Tuesday, April 14, 2026, the Grants Pass School Board unanimously adopted RESOLUTION 2526-04.
The resolution is a public declaration by the School Board proudly commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States of America, which will take place on July 4, 2026.

Following a nationwide search, Grants Pass School District 7 has hired Jason Garcia as the next principal of Grants Pass High School.
Garcia has served students and families in Grants Pass School District 7 since 2000 as a teacher, Dean of Students, and Assistant Principal.
